Vissefjärda is a locality situated in Emmaboda Municipality, Kalmar County, Sweden. Vissefjärda is also the name of the parish.[1]
Vissefjärda Church
[edit]Vissefjärda Church (Vissefjärda kyrka) dates to February 28, It is associated with the parish of Emmaboda in the Diocese of Växjö. The stone church stands where the Lyckebyån River runs into lake Kyrksjön. The chandeliers are of varying age with the oldest dating to The altarpiece was painted by Pehr Hörberg in The pulpit is from The organ is acquired from Kalmar Cathedral in The wooden church bell tower was erected in [2]
On an island opposite the church lies church memorial park (Minneslunden). Opposite the church, on the other side of the Lyckebyån, are church stables for some horses. These were built in and in use until the late s. The old county road ran along the stables and then crossed the river via an arched bridge, which was demolished in Since the stables accommodate a local museum with old tools and household items from the area, and it is the location for Midsummer festivities.[3]

Samhället
[redigera | redigera wikitext]Vissefjärda kyrka ligger där Lyckebyån passerar och rinner in i Kyrksjön. I närheten av Lyckebyån ligger också Vissefjärda skola.
Mittemot kyrkan, på andra sidan Lyckebyån, ligger kyrkstallarna som byggdes med plats för hästar år Kyrkstallarna användes fram till slutet av talet. Förr gick häradsvägen över stallplanen och vidare över en valvbro till kyrkan. I stallarna ryms sedan ett hembygdsmuseum med gamla redskap och husgeråd från trakten.

Antamåla rör, the impressive stone cairn that once marked the border to Denmark. The 11 meter high and meter long cairn evokes wonder even now. Modern science and research have given us the answer to how this awe inspiring cairn came to be. But humans have always had their own explanations to peculiar landmarks in the nature.
We look back on how it was to live here once upon a time. The folklore and legends from a time when people thought it was just as possible to meet a wolf, as it was to meet a troll in the forests. About the gigants and trolls.
Here we cross the border to Blekinge county but likt centuries ago this was the country border between Sweden and Denmark. This were dramatic years in history of the people in the cottages here in the woods and villages . We will talk about Nils Dacke, a Swedish freedom fighter and peasant leader from the 16th century, who started a rebellion against the Swedish king Gustav Vasa.
We will talk about the numerous stone walls of Småland, a county known for beeing very rocky. All these rocks were once left here by the last ice age, years ago.
