Åkersberga (uttalas tillsammans med betoningen vid ordledet -be'rga) är ett tätort inom Uppland samt centralort inom Österåkers samhälle, Stockholms län. Antalet invånare uppgick kalenderår till 33&#;[6]

Historia

byggdes en järnvägsstation vid Södra Roslags Kustbana på en gärde vilket tillhörde gården Berga inom Österåkers socken. För för att skilja den från andra stationer tillsammans samma namn skyltades den som "Åkers Berga", detta vill yttra "Berga inom Åkers skeppslag". Senare kom namnet för att skrivas tillsammans bindestreck samt slutligen bildades dagens namn Åkersberga. Företaget AB&#;Åkersberga-Trälhavet förlängde banan tillsammans med två stationer, Tunagård samt nuvarande slutstationen Österskär, områden som bebyggdes med villor.

Vid Åkersberga station etablerades butiker, post, skola samt kommunhus. ifrån talet räknas både Åkersberga och Österskär som tätorter, med respektive invånare kalenderår Sedan anses de båda orterna sammanväxta. Då detta kommunala centralortsbegreppet infördes blev Åkersberga centralort i Österåkers kommun. år – plats Åkersberga centralort i Vaxholms kommun, på grund av att efter delningen åter bli Österåkers centralort. vid talet byggdes köpcentrumet Skutan ut samt Åkersbergatun

    History

    In a railway station named Berga was opened on this rural spot some 30 km from Stockholm. Some shops and a post office followed. The name Berga was changed to Åkers Berga to avoid confusion with other places in Sweden named Berga, and the present name evolved from this. After World War II the village grew and blocks of flats were built. Åkersberga gradually evolved into a suburb with many of its inhabitants commuting to work-places in Stockholm, and has become more urban in character.

    Between and Åkersberga was the seat of Vaxholm Municipality. When the municipality was split in , Åkersberga became the seat of the reinstituted Österåker Municipality.

    Notable people from Åkersberga include Loreen, Jesper Parnevik, Alexander Östlund and Richard S. Johnson. The punk rock band Coca Carola is from Åkersberga, as are the bands Lustans Lakejer and Eskobar, of which the former have released an album named Åkersberga.
